Attention all passionate, dedicated, enthusiastic, motivated, high-achieving high school and college students: apply to be a Breakthrough teacher in Santa Fe! Teaching at Breakthrough is consistently described as one of the most challenging and rewarding ways to spend a summer. Breakthrough Santa Fe provides an eight-week teaching residency based at Santa Fe Preparatory School. Each middle school summer teacher is responsible for planning and implementing two or three sections of a core academic class (with no more than seven students per class) as well as a teacher-designed elective; teachers also serve as committee members, advisers, dodge-ball competitors, mentors, and more! In addition, we will hire three teachers to teach in our College Bound program which offers one and two week sessions of college prep, writing enrichment, ACT prep, college campus visits, and career panels for our 9th-12th grade students. Breakthrough Santa Fe provides all teachers with a living stipend, lunches, and free dorm-style housing for out-of-town teachers. We welcome applicants from all academic majors, no experience necessary. To access the national teacher application, visit http://www.breakthroughcollaborative.org/teach and please feel free to contact Director, Talia Winokur (TWinokur@sfprep.org) if you have any questions. The deadline for teacher applicants is February 27, 2012!
