Breakthrough Graduates First Class!

On Thursday, May 21, 2010, families, friends, donors, and teachers past and present gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the first class of graduating Breakthrough students. Six years ago, these students and families made a commitment to go to college. Today, 19 out of the original 23 are still living in Santa Fe, involved with Breakthrough, and going to start college in the fall. The group includes a State Champion in Women’s Basketball, a Daniels Scholar, a UNM Presidential Scholar, multiple SFPS “Super Scholars,” a prom queen, and many more accomplished individuals. Students were accepted into a range of colleges and universities and students will be attending schools such as The University of New Mexico, Reed College, New Mexico State University, Northern New Mexico College, The University of Denver, and many others.
